The Northwestern garter snake, scientifically named Thamnophis ordinoides, is a small to medium-sized snake native to western North America. It is a non-venomous species with a distinctive pattern of alternating dark and light stripes running along its body. These snakes inhabit various habitats, including moist forests, grasslands, and near water bodies. They are primarily carnivorous, feeding on amphibians, fish, and small mammals.
